Angel ‘Gift’ Tree, November 18 – December 11, 2011: Every child deserves to find something under the Tree on Christmas morning! Families struggling financially have completed an application for the Angel Tree program. Community support is needed to make Christmas dreams come true. To help, visit an Angel Tree display, select a child’s card, purchase a new gift(s) using the information on the card as a guide, and return the gift and card by December 11th. Angel Tree displays are located at: Fayette Mall (near Dillard’s), Whitaker Banks (Lexington & Georgetown), ADI, Glenn Nissan, Shell Stations, Walmart (Georgetown), and Oak Factory (Nicholasville). Angel ‘Food’ Tree, November 25 – December 24, 2011: The Salvation Army is taking a new approach to helping families enjoy a hearty Christmas meal around the table. Angel ‘Food’ cards will be displayed at Kroger stores, allowing the public to provide Christmas dinner for an angel tree child and his/her family. To help, simply select a child’s angel card, take it to the cash register and donate $25. Kroger will be sure The Salvation Army receives your donation and will provide you with a receipt. Christmas Day Dinner, December 25th at 12 noon: The Salvation Army will be open on Christmas Day offering a worship service at 10:00 AM and dinner for the homeless and poor at 12:00 PM.
